KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities is warning customers about fake text messages about gas leaks.
In a Facebook post, BPU said people claiming to represent the organization are falsely reporting as leaks and advising residents to evacuate the area immediately.
BPU said these messages are false and any of their messages come from 80213 only.
If you receive a text that seems false, BPU says to take the following precautions:
BPU asks you call their Customer Care at 913-573-9190 with any questions or concerns.
