Russell Brand's 'late night text message' apology to alleged rape victim – The Mirror

Russell Brand reportedly sent a string of text messages to the woman now accusing him of raping her at his home in Los Angeles. Brand has vehemently denied any wrong doing.
Russell Brand allegedly sent a "late night text message" apology to one of the women now accusing him of rape, claims the comedian vehemently denies. Calling herself Nadia, she first met Brand at a party back in 2012.
After talking for a bit, the two allegedly agreed to meet at his Hollywood home in June that year. But just minutes after arriving, Nadia claims she began to feel uncomfortable. Nothing happened then and they reportedly met again in July.
It was at this alleged meeting that Russell reportedly stripped off naked before telling Nadia there was a "friend" waiting for her in his bedroom. After refusing, Russell allegedly began "grabbing at [her] underwear", she told The Times.
"I'm stuck underneath the painting and he's pushing up against me. He's a lot taller than me. And he has that glazed look in his eye again. And I can’t move. And I told him, 'Get off, get off'." Nadia claims Brand then raped her without a condom.
After this alleged incident, Brand is thought to have sent a seven-word apology. "I'm sorry. That was crazy and selfish," he penned, according to text messages from Brand's number, verified by The Times.
He reportedly continued: "I hope you can forgive me, I know that you’re a lovely person. X." In the messages, virtually mocked up by The Mirror, Nadia is seen replying: "Do you know how scary [you are] when that glaze look comes over.
"When a girl say[s] NO it means no. Do I have to go and get myself tested? Last time you asked me condom or no condom. When I say condom that doesn't mean it optional, [you] don't have the best reputation.
"I pry myself on being safe and trying to make the right decisions. Obviously this was a bad one. I'm so disappointed." Per the messages, Russell appeared to reply: "You don’t need to get tested. I will make this up to you somehow with live [sic] and kindness.
"Not my original idea which was more sex. You’ve been lovely to me and I’m embarrassed by my behaviour. Sorry. X." The outlet reports Brand's US phone number was "verified by multiple sources" in their joint investigation with Dispatches.
The Sunday Times, The Times and the Channel 4 show revealed claims Russell raped, sexually assault and emotionally abused women in the mid-2000s, which he denies. The allegations made against Brand include one woman named as "Alice" who claims she was sexually assaulted during a three-month relationship with him when she was 16 and still at school, according the Dispatches programme.
She described his behaviour as "grooming" as he would allegedly provide her with scripts on how to deceive her parents into allowing her to visit him. Another woman was "Nadia" who details her allegations in the TV show's investigation.
A third claims he sexually assaulted her while she worked with him in Los Angeles and threatened to take legal action if she told anyone of the allegation. A fourth woman alleges she was sexually assaulted by Brand and that he was physically and emotionally abusive towards her.
The stand-up comedian insisted he was facing a "litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks". In a video statement he said: "These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream and, as I have written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. The relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual. I was always transparent about that.
"To see that transparency metastasised into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question is there another agenda at play." Brand was married to US pop star Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012. He later wed presenter Kirsty Gallacher’s sister Laura. The pair have two children with a third on the way.
