UOB and Singapore Airlines are back with their bonus miles deal for those holding the KrisFlyer UOB credit card, offering 1,500 KrisFlyer miles per S$500 spent on air tickets over the next three weeks, potentially worth up to 3 mpd on top of this card’s normal earn rate for SIA Group transactions.
That means tapping in to an additional unlimited 3 mpd offered year-round, for a total of up to 6 mpd at certain optimal spend thresholds.
This now appears to be a regular monthly deal, since it’s a repeat of the same offer the bank has run over the last five months!
You’ll need to register to participate, and unfortunately the deal is capped at the first 1,000 blocks of bonus miles issued, plus each member can only earn a maximum of 6,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles (four blocks) during the promotion.
This offer is for new Singapore Airlines bookings departing from Singapore made via the singaporeair.com website or mobile app between 13th July 2023 and 3rd August 2023.
Thee first thing you’ll need to do is book your air tickets using your KrisFlyer UOB credit card, then obtain your booking reference number(s). You can earn the award on one booking or multiple bookings under this promotion.
The bonus miles are not automatic – once you have booked your tickets you must successfully register to participate in this promotion.
That requires you to send an SMS to 77862 using your mobile number registered with UOB, in the following format:
A separate SMS needs to be sent for every booking made, in order to benefit from the bonus 1,500 KrisFlyer miles for every cumulative S$500 spent across all bookings.
For example, if I book SIA tickets on my KF UOB credit card worth:
I will then need to send three separate SMS messages to UOB, with the three different booking references, to register my participation.
With a total spend in this example of S$1,500, I will net 3 x 1,500 = 4,500 KrisFlyer miles bonus, assuming the 1,000 bonus blocks have not already been claimed.
This will be in addition to the 4,500 KrisFlyer miles I would earn anyway for these transactions, at the year-round 3 mpd rate, for a total of 9,000 miles (6 mpd equivalent).
Remember, each cardholder is limited to a maximum of four awards (i.e. 4 x 1,500 = 6,000 KrisFlyer miles bonus), which would equate to a total S$2,000+ spend across all bookings.
Sadly the total number of awards is limited to 1,000 across all cardholders, so this one could expire pretty quickly.
The deal only went live at midnight yesterday (0.01h on 13th July 2023), so making your bookings, and sending those all-important SMSs as soon as you can, will give you the best chance of success.
Buying Singapore Airlines tickets also counts towards the S$800 minimum group spend to unlock this card’s “Accelerated Miles” category, allowing you to earn 3 mpd on other spend like dining, food delivery, online shopping, travel and transport throughout the year.
The bonus 1,500 KrisFlyer miles batches, capped at 6,000 miles per person and worth up to an additional 3 mpd, will be credited to your KrisFlyer account by 30th November 2023.
The regular 3 mpd earned from your SIA flight booking will be credited to your KrisFlyer account on a monthly basis, as usual.

As we reported in May, UOB has extended its rare uncapped 25,000 miles sign-up bonus for the KrisFlyer UOB credit card, when you spend S$2,000 in the first 60 days, which is now good for card approvals through to 31st July 2023.
That’s a great opportunity to jump in with this card, which usually features one of UOB’s ‘gambling’ sign-up promotions, with a limit on how many applicants can receive the bonus.

If you purchase flight tickets with Singapore Airlines between 13th July 2023 and 3rd August 2023 using your KrisFlyer UOB credit card, you can then SMS the booking reference(s) to the bank and be awarded with 1,500 bonus KrisFlyer miles per S$500 spend.
You can score a maximum of four awards, meaning up to 6,000 bonus miles for making a total spend of S$2,000 or greater, but unfortunately there is only a total of only 1,000 awards to go around across all cardholders who participate.
We’d therefore recommend booking early for this one, since awards are based on spend date, then send your SMS messages and cross your fingers that there are still awards available.
It’s gambling but hey… it’s UOB!
