I don't know about you, but I feel like I've received a lot of scam text messages lately.
Scammers are always on the lookout for their next scam and their next victim. But, they've really been upping their game lately.
Here's a look at a text I got recently about a ‘job offer’ that was clearly too good to be true.
You'll notice that I've redacted some of the information… that's because they provided some means of contact. And one thing you never want to do with a scam is reach out or interact in any way.
But, allow me to draw your attention to some key things that scream "scam" right away about this;
Here’s another example of a recent scam text:
This one was particularly funny because it said I received this driving violation during a 6 week period where I literally drove nowhere because I was recovering from a major surgery. Not to mention, they said that the DMV was going to suspend my license. But, Michigan has the Secretary of State.
Plus, as usual, this scam message is filled with misplaced or missed spaces, punctuation, and more.
Here's what NOT to do when you receive messages like these:
