Scam alert: Don’t respond to this text and delete immediately, Alabama officials warn – AL.com

The Alabama Department of Revenue has received reports of a text message scam, regarding refund claims.
Fraudulent text messages have been popping up in multiple states disguised as revenue agencies. The messages “claim your refund request is approved” as an attempt to get residents to share personal and financial information.
The ALDOR said in a press release that the agency never sends text messages asking for personal information.
