Samsung Galaxy S22 Users are Not Receiving Text Messages: How … – DealNTech

October 4, 2022 6:15 PM Mobile News
Samsung unveiled its Flagship Galaxy S22 series early this year on February 25. The series includes the vanilla S22, the S22+, and the high-end flagship S22 Ultra. The company reigns when it comes to providing updates, whether monthly security patches or major yearly updates. They lead the Android realm, and the users are happy about that.
Generally, an update is known to patch up the issues or bugs reported by users. But sometimes, with the update only, vulnerability is created. The Galaxy S22 series devices are facing a lack of text messages or not receiving text messages at all. This is a severe issue as it can create problems. People will not be aware of the important messages they have received because the bug letting them is hidden. And also, the impression of the opposite party will not be good if you are intentionally not viewing their messages.
Because of the latest September security update, the Galaxy S22 series devices have stopped receiving texts. The users cannot receive texts on Verizon, T-Mobile, or any other carriers. Many users have reported the same. According to them, the recent September update has messed it up.
The Samsung Community, Reddit, and Twitter are filled with users’ complaints on the issue. The users cannot see the text messages until they restart their devices. And after restarting, all pending unseen messages come together and flood the notification panel, which is irritating.
One user says, “It seems since the last update, my phone is not receiving all texts.” Users are also complaining about the poor service of Verizon, but this seems irrelevant as the issue is with Samsung’s September update.
However, the bug is not exclusive to the S22 series. Last year S21 devices also encountered such bugs wherein they couldn’t send or receive messages. A Reddit user confirms, “Galaxy S21+ 5G not receiving or sending text messages.”
Suppose you have updated any of your Galaxy S22 series devices to the latest September security patch provided by Samsung. In that case, you will be prone to the bug that you will not be receiving text messages anymore.
These are some standard troubleshooting steps to follow if you want your messages to be viewable.
Fortunately, one of the Samsung representatives replied to a consumer stating the awareness of the issue and the fix will be available with the upcoming update next week. Hopefully, the update will be available by the end of this month or early October. The Galaxy S22 series devices are flagship and come at a valuable cost, and they shouldn’t be stopped from performing such basic tasks. This annoys a user when paying for such an expensive product.
Update: It looks like the October 2022 security patch for S22 has fixed the “text messages not receiving” issue. Some users also claimed that the “text messages not receiving” issue does not display if we use Verizon messaging app. So you can also try the Verizon messaging app and let us know if it works for you in the comment section.

I have been using the phone for two months, and the mobile specs of the phone fully meet my expectations. It is an excellent smartphone compact, high-quality screen and a fast and good camera – photo and video at a high level. If you actively watch youtube and Instagram, the battery is enough for 16 hours. Charges quickly. Good body material and design. Fast charging 25w.

We have Verizon and had this problem on the S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra, and an iPhone 13. The problem is that in the transfer of data via a smart switch, the MMS texting doesn’t come over right. SMS texts are for short text-only texts… and individuals. If the text gets too long, has a picture, or is to a group, it changes to MMS text. That’s what was failing. The error was the usually invalid delivery destination.
We tried every fix online, but we finally found the one that guaranteed immediately fix all our phones. Go to on your PC. You want to go to my devices and manage devices. You then go to BLOCKS. These are the services and features you are blocking. Go to advanced messaging; you will see MMS messaging. It is probably not blocked. If it is, turn it off. But if it’s not, turn it on to block the messages. Wait 30 seconds. Turn the block off. This resets the MMS blocking.

This worked for me, but let me also add that, for some reason, I could not see any of the “blocked” things or that option under manage devices from my desktop. I HAD to go in through the Verizon app. I logged in, clicked account at the bottom, selected the appropriate device, scrolled down, and found the blocked services option under preferences.

Its dec 5th. got a new s22+. updated to android 13. applied all updates. not receiving texts. on verizon network. on this for 4-5 days already. tried two sims. tried 3 factory resets. still not receiving text messages. any other troubleshooting steps out there?
I just got the newest android Samsung from Costco a week ago and discovered I’m not getting texts. Also, after 15 minutes of charge, my phone feels warm (it is chilly here), which means it will overheat during hotter months. I always buy my phones from Costco, where the return window is 90 days.
No texts since the update was performed on 11/17, may be time to find another phone vendor. All the above suggestions have been tried by myself and several t-mobile employees, replacement phone has been sent, and it didn’t resolve the problem Applications are impossible to set up since most send a verification code via text that I can’t receive. Tired of messing with this. I have spent hours working to make a simple task work once again.
patch didn’t fix my not receiving texts problem. i still can’t receive from 3 contacts.

Please try the workarounds and if they don’t work, you have to wait for another update. You can also reach out to Samsung if you want to.

None of those work on my 22 Ultra. I left the iPhone for YET another damned company with frickin issues and a price tag of a $1400 and change for a phone that people cannot reach me on?
I’m still having issues with just one contact. When will it be fixed?
S22 plus keeps showing unread 1 message, but all my messages have been read already. so annoying.
I have the opposite problem – the Sept update was fine, it was this most recent Oct update that caused the problem for me. I have not been able to receive texts for a week. I tried all of the above. No one can help me. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Samsung customer service?
Missing text messages, many important. May be time to switch from Samsung. My company has hundreds.

As an update, it seems like the company has solved the problem with the October update followed. If you haven’t updated, reach out for the same.
