Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued an urgent warning regarding a false announcement circulating in text messages about unpaid traffic fines.
The fraudulent SMS warns recipients that their traffic fine is unpaid and demands payment within 12 hours to avoid potential legal action, directing them to an unofficial link.
Authorities confirm that these deceptive messages are designed for electronic fraud. The public is strongly advised not to click on any links or visit unofficial websites.
Instead, citizens should verify all information exclusively through official Royal Oman Police channels and immediately report any suspicious messages or links to law enforcement agencies to protect against cyber scams.
