One-way SIM locking is still not the final form of handling unverified subscribers.
Many subscribers have been locked from sending out and sending out messages since June 15th due to not confirming their usage status. However, this is not the final step of handling and users still have time to restore services before the subscriber number is recovered.
After June 15, many users were surprised to discover that they could not make calls or send SMS messages from the phone number they were using. This is a measure applied to subscribers who have not confirmed their usage status as prescribed.
However, not immediately after being blocked in one direction, the subscriber number will be recovered.
Lock the call and text
According to current regulations, subscribers who have not completed usage status confirmation will be temporarily suspended from calling and texting.
At this stage, users can still receive incoming calls and SMS messages.
This is also the reason why many people do not immediately realize that their subscribers have been restricted from services until they actively call or send messages.
After 60 days will be two-way locked
If after 60 days from the time of being one-way locked, the user has not yet carried out confirmation or authentication according to regulations, the subscriber will continue to be two-way locked.
At that time, users not only cannot make phone calls or send messages but also cannot receive incoming calls or SMS messages.
This is a stage that can significantly affect personal contact, electronic transactions, bank accounts, e-wallets, or services that are using phone numbers for authentication.
After the next 5 days, the number may be revoked
According to the processing roadmap, after being two-way locked, users still have 5 more days to complete confirmation or verification of information.
If this deadline expires and they still do not implement it, the subscriber number will be revoked and the contract for providing and using telecommunications services will be terminated according to regulations.
At that time, users are at risk of losing the right to use the phone number they have been attached to for a long time.
Users still have time to restore service
Telecommunications businesses said that subscribers do not need to wait until the next milestones to reopen the service.
Immediately after completing confirmation or successful authentication, the system will restore contact for the subscriber.
Users can perform confirmation through the VNeID application, the network operator’s application or go to transaction points for support.
According to network operators, early handling right from the one-way lock phase will help users avoid risks arising when subscribers enter the two-way lock phase or their numbers are recovered.
