Just when you thought The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 finale dinner couldn’t get any more dramatic, new footage of the shocking sit-down has come to light. More specifically, Lisa Barlow‘s scathing text message about Meredith Marks.
During the January 15 episode, Heather Gay made the decision to have her castmates look through their phones and find the “meanest thing” they’d said about each other. Then, they would share the message with whoever they were talking about … and read it out loud.
Almost immediately, there were tears. Although there wasn’t time to read everyone‘s messages during the episode, the rest of the words were shared during Peacock’s extended and uncensored version of Season 5, Episode 16, which was released on January 16.
“I wrote about Meredith,” Lisa said in the previously unaired moment as she handed Meredith her cell phone “This is last year when I was super upset.”
The jewelry designer began to read.
“I feel like Meredith digs up information to weaponize it,” read the text. “It’s f–king dirty and I don’t like it.”
In a confessional, Lisa explained that she feels like over the last few years Meredith had been accused of digging up information and “trying to get it out there.” Thus, she wanted to clear the air.
Luckily, Meredith wasn’t upset by the text. “Given where we were last year, I’m not super surprised,” she said after reading the message. “OK.”

Still, not everyone was convinced that was the “meanest” thing in Lisa’s phone.
“Does she expect us to say this is the worst thing she’s said about Meredith? She called her a garbage whore two years ago,” Angie Katsanevas said. “Come on, Lisa. What is really in your phone?”
In The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show video above, the cast members shed new light on Heather’s controversial dinner activity.
“You know me! Just world peace. It’s all I ask,” Heather joked. However, her castmates don’t exactly look back on the experience fondly.
“I think your game was a horrible idea,” Meredith told Heather. Mary Cosby agreed, calling it a “recipe for disaster.”
But there were some silver linings to the situation.
“I think it helped me realize what I already knew about everybody sitting at the table,” Bronwyn Newport explained. “I’ve always wanted to be friends with Heather. I think there’s a lot of value in who Heather is and how she conducts herself and I think we have a lot in common and could be really good friends. And the way Heather handled reading Mary’s message, and the way she apologized to [Whitney Rose] about what she said about [her], I respected.”
Bronwyn also respected Heather coming up with the game in the first place, explaining, “It underscored for me, hard times or not with Heather, there is something there that Heather and I could have.”
