The Kosovo police once again warned citizens about the appearance of fake SMS messages that are distributed in the name of Kosovo institutions, in which citizens are falsely informed that they have unpaid traffic fines.
According to them, it is a fraud, that is, messages that contain suspicious links, with the request that users enter personal or banking data or make a payment via the Internet.
The police emphasize that these messages are not official and that citizens should not believe them.
Citizens are advised not to open links from such messages, not to leave personal and financial information, and not to make any payments via SMS notifications.
If they receive such a message, the Kosovo Police say that it should be deleted immediately and reported to the competent institutions.
Applications are possible through the application “Notify the police.” or by calling 192.
The police urged citizens to be extra cautious and stressed that they will continue to work on preventing and detecting such internet fraud.
