Jordan Hogg murder accused sent text message about police raid concerns, jury hears – Teesside Live

One of the men accused of murdering Jordan Hogg sent a text message relaying his concerns about a potential police raid, a trial has heard. Ryan Moore has been giving evidence at Newcastle Crown Court and previously explained that he and his co-accused had went to retrieve Sidney Bashford's stolen bike.
Jordan Hogg was stabbed in the neck in his home on February 28 at his Fonteyn Court flat in Hemlington. The jury has previously watched CCTV showing the rigger's last seconds as he was captured knocking on his neighbour's door for help, before collapsing. The 28-year-old was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Ryan Moore, 23, of no fixed address, denies murder. He is standing trial alongside Oliver Connelly, 28, of Elmhurst Gardens in Middlesbrough; Sidney Bashford, 29, of no fixed address; Michael Charville, 44, of no fixed address; Leon Palfreeman, 18, of no fixed address; and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons. All deny murder.
It is the prosecution's case that the attack happened after Mr Hogg's friend stole Bashford's electric bike. On Tuesday, the jury heard the last of Moore's evidence.
Prosecutor, Peter Glenser KC asked Moore questions about text messages which he had sent to a friend following Mr Hogg's alleged murder. Reading from a transcript of the message, Mr Glenser said: "Are you going to let me bring this lass who was with us when it happened?
"I don't want her in the house when it gets raided, she was not meant to be there."
Moore told the jury that he could not remember sending the text message and did not know who it was about. Moore also denied he was trying to "fool the jury" during his evidence.
Mr Glenser added: "The plan was to slash [Mr Hogg's] face, but he moved and as a result, he was cut to the very spine…" Moore replied: "No".
The trial continues.
