(WPTA) – The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is warning Hoosiers about new text message scams it says mimic the BMV’s mobile website and improperly cite Indiana Code.
According to the agency, the scam text messages read as follows:
The agency says the messages should be considered fraudulent, and Hoosiers are asked to ignore and delete them, while not clicking on any included links.
The agency adds that it does not send SMS text messages about outstanding penalties, and the fees outlined in the scam are not ones that the agency collects.
