HARRISBURG — Scammers are sending fake text messages threatening to suspend your driver’s license, vehicle registration, or prosecute you for unpaid tickets. The state Attorney General’s Office. The messages include a payment link — but officials warn not to click it. They are not from PennDOT and aim to steal your personal information.
Attorney General Dave Sunday says PennDOT never sends traffic violation texts. Report such messages as spam and file a complaint at [email protected] or call 800-441-2555. Include a screenshot of the message when reporting it to the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
