NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Explicit videos, text messages and a complaint from her husband unraveled what investigators say was an on-duty affair that ultimately ended the career of a Metro Nashville school resource officer.
According to disciplinary records FOX 17 News obtained, the Office of Professional Accountability investigation concluded with Lisa Vidrios admitting to sexual encounters inside Madison Middle School and a Metro Police vehicle before agreeing to resign from the department.
An OPA investigative summary details how investigators pieced together videos, photographs, text messages, work schedules and a written admission from School Resource Officer Lisa Vidrios before concluding she violated multiple department policies.
UPDATE: Metro Nashville's Community Review Board, which serves as an MNPD watchdog, will be addressing this matter, review board Chair Shawn Whitsell tells FOX17 News' Johnny Maffei. Maffei asked the state's Peace Officer Standard and Training Commission if they will be taking any action.
Here's how the investigation unfolded.
The investigation began May 26, 2025, after Vidrios' husband, Angel Vidrios, also a Metro Nashville Police Department officer, filed a complaint with the OPA, alleging he had discovered evidence that his wife was having an affair with another Metro Police officer.
The name of the Metro Police officer was redacted from the report received by FOX 17 News. When questioned about this, the department gave the following response:
"The internal investigation became delayed due to [redacted] being on sick leave and unavailable to be interviewed. [Redacted] was granted a medical pension… which resulted in his official separation."
According to the report, he alleged the relationship extended beyond a personal affair and included multiple sexual encounters during work hours on Metro property, including inside Madison Middle School and inside a Metro Police vehicle.
During his interview with investigators, Angel Vidrios said he discovered a WhatsApp conversation between Lisa Vidrios and the other officer dating back roughly two months.

According to the report, one video allegedly showed Lisa Vidrios and the other officer having sex on a couch inside her office at Madison Middle School while voices of staff members could be heard outside the door.
Another video allegedly showed the two performing oral sex inside a Metro Police vehicle.
Investigators said Angel Vidrios used his own phone to preserve screenshots and videos from Lisa Vidrios' device before turning them over to OPA.
The report says Angel Vidrios first became suspicious after seeing his wife stopped in what he described as a random parking lot near Topgolf through the couple's Life360 account.
He told investigators she offered another explanation for why she was there, but investigators later reviewed text messages discussing a meeting at that location.
The investigation extended well beyond the text messages.
According to the report, investigators compared timestamps from conversations with Metro work schedules, overtime logs and Workbrain records to determine whether the officers were on duty when the meetings occurred.
The report highlights several examples.
April 9
Investigators said text messages discussed meeting at the school. Work records showed both officers were working at the time, leading investigators to conclude the meeting appeared to have occurred while both were on duty.
April 12
Messages referenced one officer leaving work and providing an estimated arrival time. Work records showed the officer was working overtime that evening, and investigators concluded the meeting likely occurred during paid duty hours.
April 16
Another series of messages included discussions about cameras inside a school parking garage before later messages stating, "I parked next to you," "Unlock your door" and "I'm putting shorts on."
Investigators said work records showed both officers were working that day and concluded the messages reflected an on-duty meeting inside the school parking garage.

Rather than participating in a formal investigative interview, Lisa Vidrios entered into what MNPD calls a pre-investigative settlement agreement.
Under the agreement, she admitted violating department policy and accepted discipline before the investigation concluded.
According to her written statement summarized in the report, Lisa Vidrios admitted she and the other officer:
She told investigators the encounters inside the school occurred between approximately 4 and 6 p.m.
The report also states she acknowledged children were still inside the building during those times, although investigators do not indicate that any students witnessed the activity.
According to OPA, the allegations were supported by multiple forms of evidence, including videos, photographs, text messages, work records and Lisa Vidrios' written admission.
Investigators concluded the evidence showed sexual activity occurred inside the school resource officer's office, inside a Metro police vehicle and during paid work hours.
The report says the second officer was never interviewed.
Investigators wrote that while the investigation was underway, the officer went on leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act before later receiving approval for an Injured on Duty medical pension, preventing an OPA interview.
The report notes that if the officer returns to employment with MNPD, investigators recommend he be questioned about the allegations.
OPA ultimately sustained two policy violations against Lisa Vidrios:
Investigators concluded she engaged in conduct that brought discredit upon the department and failed to devote her work hours entirely to official duties after evidence showed she left work assignments to engage in personal activity while on duty.
As part of the pre-investigative settlement agreement, Lisa Vidrios accepted a 30-day suspension and agreed to submit an irrevocable resignation effective after the suspension.
The agreement resolved the disciplinary case without a traditional administrative hearing.

The investigation marked a dramatic turn for a couple once recognized by the department for making history together.
In August 2022, Lisa and Angel Vidrios graduated as part of a 61-member Metropolitan Nashville Police Academy class. At the time, MNPD announced they were the first married couple to graduate from the Metro Police Academy together.
Less than three years later, Angel Vidrios' complaint to the OPA would launch the investigation that ultimately ended his wife's law enforcement career.
