The SSC examinations for 2026 are currently underway. While minor irregularities have been occurring during the exams, incidents of examinations being conducted with incorrect set codes have been reported almost daily in different parts of the country this year. To prevent such incidents, urgent instructions have now been issued to centre secretaries.
From now on, centre secretaries have been asked to delete all old SMS messages related to SSC examination set codes from their mobile devices.
On Monday (May 11), the Dinajpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education issued a notice in this regard. The notice was sent to all centre secretaries under the board participating in the SSC Examination 2026.
According to the notice, during the ongoing SSC examinations, some examination centres across the country mistakenly opened question paper packets containing different set codes instead of the designated ones for the scheduled exam day.
An investigation found that many centre secretaries had not deleted previous SMS messages containing set codes sent by the education board from their mobile devices. As a result, confusion arose between old and new SMS messages, leading to the accidental opening of question paper packets with incorrect set codes.
To avoid such mistakes in the future, all centre secretaries and officials involved in conducting the examinations at the field level have been requested to ensure that all exam-related SMS messages are deleted from their mobile devices before 12:00 midnight each examination day.
