Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has warned citizens to be cautious of fraudulent text messages that have recently been circulating while impersonating state institutions.
In a public notice shared on social media, the ministry said scammers are sending SMS messages in the name of both the ministry and the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR), containing suspicious links related to alleged fines or payment requests.
Authorities stressed that the messages are fraudulent and urged citizens not to click on any embedded links.
The ministry also advised the public not to provide personal or banking information through such messages and recommended deleting them immediately upon receipt.
Officials reminded citizens that official Albanian government websites only end with the “.gov.al” domain and encouraged users to rely exclusively on official platforms, including e-Albania, for any verification or online services.
The ministry further called on the public to share the warning in order to raise awareness and help prevent others from becoming victims of phishing and online fraud attempts.
