The Cyber Crime Subdivision has issued a warning after receiving numerous reports of suspicious SMS messages that falsely claim to be from GESY, the national health system.
The messages typically alert recipients to a supposed problem with accessing GESY’s online portal and urge them to click a link to “fix” the issue. Authorities say the links actually direct users to fraudulent websites designed to steal passwords, a tactic known as phishing.
Officials emphasized that GESY has no connection to these messages and urged the public to exercise caution.
