MEMPHIS, Mo. — Residents in northeast Missouri are being warned about a possible text message scam involving an area hospital.
Scotland County Hospital business office staff in Memphis report they were notified that a patient had received a suspicious message.
It indicated that the person would be charged a $59.99 late fee from Scotland County Hospital/Memphis Medical.
Business office staff want to let patients know that they do not send texts regarding late charges.
If you receive a message that appears to be from the hospital or clinic, don't click on any links or respond to it.
