SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Levo Credit Union is warning customers to look out for scam texts claiming to be from their company.
Customers are reporting receiving a text message informing them their card was added to a strange vendor’s software.
Jen McKeown oversees member education for Levo in Sioux Falls.
“This is happening to financial institutions across the country, including here in Sioux Falls,” said McKeown. “We wanted to let our members and non-members know that if they get a strange text about an expenditure they didn’t make, it could be a scam.”
Levo is encouraging customers NOT to click on the link provided in the text message.
Levo says that if they were to send you a text message, it would send from a 1-800 number, not a link.
The text would also have the last four digits of the customer’s card number.
This is an example of a text that Levo would send if they needed to reach out.
Levo says they wouldn’t text or email a customer for personal information.
