SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The Federal Trade Commission is warning people about fake texts involving Amazon.
It says some people are receiving messages claiming to be from Amazon, saying an item they purchased has been recalled.
The texts include a link offering a full refund.
The FTC says it's actually a scam to steal your money or your personal information.
Officials warn not to click on links in unexpected texts and to check your Amazon account directly for any recalled product information.
