A former employee of a building and remodeling company was arrested for sending threatening text message to the owner of the company.
Adam G. Elshazly was arrested Wednesday and charged with evidence of prejudice while committing written threats to kill or do bodily injury.
A report from the Boynton Beach Police Department notes that Elshazly allegedly sent antisemitic text messages to the victim on July 2, 2024.
The victim then began an exchange of racist and religious insults with Elshazly. Research by the victim determined that the phone number sending the text message belonged to Elshazly, who was a former employee of the victim’s business about 10 to 15 years ago.
The victim said he fired Elshazly three days after hiring him because of poor performance. Since the termination, the victim said he has not had contact with the employee until the string of text messages.
Although the report notes that both made comments toward each other, the text messages that the suspect sent that threatened the life of the victim and were prejudice towards the victim’s religion violated state law.

Elshazly was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on Thursday on $30,000 bond.
