If your Realme GT 7 Pro is refusing to send picture messages or group chats, it’s a frustrating roadblock. The issue usually comes down to a few specific settings on your phone or with your carrier. Let’s get your multimedia messages flowing again.

MMS doesn’t travel over your regular cellular voice signal or Wi-Fi. It needs an active mobile data connection. Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the Quick Settings panel and tap the mobile data icon to make sure it’s enabled. You should see the 4G or 5G symbol in your status bar.
If you’re connected to Wi-Fi, try turning it off temporarily. Some Wi-Fi networks can interfere with MMS delivery, and your GT 7 Pro needs to switch to mobile data to send them, even if Wi-Fi is available.
The stock Messages app on your phone has specific settings for MMS. Open the Messages app, tap the three-dot menu in the top right, and go to Settings > Advanced settings.
Here, make sure Auto-download MMS is turned on. You might also see an option for Auto-download MMS when roaming; if you’re traveling, enable that one too. These settings ensure your phone is ready to receive and process multimedia messages.
This is one of the most common culprits. The Access Point Name (APN) tells your phone exactly how to connect to your carrier’s data and MMS services. An incorrect setting here will stop MMS in its tracks.
Go to Settings > Mobile network > Access Point Names. You should see a list of APNs, with one selected (usually your carrier’s name). Tap on it to view the details.
You need to check that the MMSC field is filled in correctly. This is the address of your carrier’s multimedia messaging center. If this field is blank or wrong, your MMS has nowhere to go. The exact MMSC URL varies by carrier, so you may need to contact them or search online for “[Your Carrier] APN settings 2024”.
Temporary files can get corrupted and cause all sorts of app misbehavior. Clearing the cache is a safe first step that won’t delete your conversations. Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps.
Find and tap on Messages. Then, go to Storage usage and tap Clear cache. This only takes a second. Afterward, try sending an MMS again.
A simple reboot can clear out minor software glitches that might be hanging up the messaging service. On the Realme GT 7 Pro, press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until you feel a vibration and see the Realme logo appear as the phone restarts.
This is different from just turning the screen off and on. It fully reboots the system, which can resolve temporary issues with network connectivity and app processes.
Running outdated software can lead to compatibility problems, including with MMS. Realme frequently releases updates that fix bugs and improve network stability. Go to Settings > About phone > Software update.
Tap on Check for updates and install any that are available. I’d recommend doing this while connected to Wi-Fi, as updates can be large. After installing, restart your phone and test MMS again.
If you’re still stuck, resetting network settings can wipe out any deeper configuration errors. This will reset Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth, so you’ll have to reconnect to your Wi-Fi networks afterward.
Go to Settings > System settings > Reset phone. Tap on Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. Confirm the action, and your phone will restart. This is a very effective step for persistent network-related issues.
Your GT 7 Pro needs a bit of free space to process and store incoming MMS messages. If your storage is critically full, it can fail. Go to Settings > About phone > Storage to see how much space you have left.
If you’re running low, try cleaning out old downloads, app caches, or unused apps. Freeing up even a few hundred megabytes can make a difference.
Sometimes the issue is with the default messaging app itself. A great troubleshooting step is to install a different app and set it as your default. Google Messages is a reliable, widely supported option.
Download Google Messages from the Play Store. Open it, and it will usually prompt you to make it your default SMS app. You can also set this manually in Settings > Apps > Default apps > SMS app. Test if MMS works from within Google Messages.
If you’ve tried everything on your phone, the problem might be on your carrier’s end. Give them a call or use their online support chat. Tell them you cannot send MMS from your Realme GT 7 Pro.
They can check if there’s an outage in your area, reprovision your line for MMS services, and give you the absolute correct APN settings to enter manually. They may also need to ensure your specific phone model is fully compatible with their MMS gateway.
