Alleged old text messages from Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer “Jenny” Austria Barzaga, containing profanity about rice intended for her constituents, circulated on social media.
An X (formerly Twitter) user shared a screengrab on Tuesday, August 25, of a text message that allegedly came from the city chief.
“Some interesting news from Dasmariñas: a screenshot of who is apparently Mayor Jenny Barzaga texting using choice words is making the rounds online,” an X user wrote.
“Upon confirmation by some (by tracing the phone number shown through viber and gcash), it appears to indeed be her. toinks..” the X user added.
According to the details in the text, the exchange took place on the afternoon of Dec. 10, 2025.
Some informed Barzaga that the “leaders and coordinators” of certain barangays were following up on the “rice” to be given away.
The mayor allegedly responded with a curse, saying that the rice could not be released immediately.
“P***** *** nila!!! Hindi ba sila makapag-antay? Hindi naman maayos at mare-release agad ‘yon! Mag-antay sila! Para naman silang mga patay-gutom!!! Gusto agad agad? Sabihin mo mag-antay sila at inaayos na!!!” the text reads.
The individual responded that they would also inform other barangay captains, whom the leaders had also been contacting.
“Sabihin mo sa kanila mag-antay!!! P***** *** din naman ‘yang mga kapitan na ‘yan! Imbes na sila ang kumausap diyan sa mga ‘yan eh, nakikisawsaw pa! Sabihin mo ginagawan na ng paraan! Mga putang ina nila!!!!!!!” the mayor allegedly said.
The individual who shared the screenshot also claimed to have verified the number through an e-wallet service by attempting to send funds.
“Checked it myself through GCash (I don’t have Viber), and I think that’s actually her… Jennifer Barzaga,” the X user wrote, sharing a screengrab.
Encoding the number on Viber also yielded a profile under the name “Jenny Barzaga.”
As of this writing, the mayor has not yet issued a statement regarding the alleged text messages.
Meanwhile, Republic Act 6713, also known as the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, requires public officials to observe “professionalism” in the performance of their duties.
“Public officials and employees shall perform and discharge their duties with the highest degree of excellence, professionalism, intelligence and skill. They shall enter public service with utmost devotion and dedication to duty,” the law states
“They shall endeavor to discourage wrong perceptions of their roles as dispensers or peddlers of undue patronage,” it added.
The code also states their “responsiveness to the public,” saying that public officials “shall extend prompt, courteous, and adequate service to the public.”
Meanwhile, Jenny, the mother of expelled Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga (4th District), has filed her certificate of candidacy for the House seat vacated by her son. The special election is set for August 29.
