BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – The Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam has warned the public to remain vigilant against scam SMS messages and automated voice calls falsely claiming to be from the High Court of Brunei Darussalam.
The alert follows reports of individuals receiving fraudulent messages and calls instructing recipients to press “0” to speak to an operator or take other actions.
The Supreme Court stressed that the SMS messages and automated calls were not issued or authorised by the Court.
Members of the public are advised not to respond to or act on such messages or calls, and not to disclose any personal, financial, banking or other sensitive information.
Those wishing to verify the authenticity of any communication purportedly from the Court are advised to contact the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam directly at +673 2235842.
