Parkview Baptist coach accused of sending sexually explicit messages to 14-year-old student, warrant says – WAFB

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A coach at Parkview Baptist School is accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 14-year-old student, according to an arrest warrant obtained by WAFB.
The warrant was issued for Patrick Ryan Yomtob, 46, of Gonzales, on one count of indecent behavior with juveniles. Investigators with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began in April after allegations surfaced involving a 14-year-old female victim and a 16-year-old male student at a local high school.
According to court documents, the victim later told investigators she had confided in a teacher she identified as “Coach Y.” Detectives later identified that teacher as Yomtob, who works at Parkview Baptist School.
Investigators said they reviewed digital evidence taken from the victim’s cellphone and found multiple text message exchanges between Yomtob and the victim beginning in March 2026. The affidavit states the conversations contained “lewd and lascivious language,” including discussions about sexual activity and the victim’s prior sexual experiences.
The warrant also alleges Yomtob sent the victim a photograph of himself during the conversations.
According to investigators, authorities later seized Yomtob’s cellphone through a search warrant and found that several messages had been deleted.

The affidavit states Yomtob’s attorney later contacted investigators and advised that his client would not be making a statement.
In a statement to WAFB, Parkview Baptist School said it became aware of the investigation involving a high school employee.
School officials said the employee was immediately placed on administrative leave and barred from accessing the campus or communicating with students.
“The safety, security, and well-being of our students is our highest priority, and allegations of this nature are treated with the utmost seriousness,” the school said.
Parkview Baptist also said it is fully cooperating with law enforcement and noted the school has established hiring and screening protocols, including background checks and review procedures aimed at ensuring student safety.
Yomtob was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The investigation remains ongoing.
