Digital Content Manager

OREGON – Oregon State Police is warning people about a new scam targeting Oregonians through text messages.
According to OSP, scammers are sending text messages claiming to be from the agency and asking for payment for “traffic compliance.” The messages are completely fake, and people should not click any links or share personal or financial information if they receive one.
Oregon State Police will never request payment by text message. If someone receives a suspicious message, they should contact OSP or their local law enforcement agency directly using an official phone number to verify whether it’s legitimate.
